I never said the man was a saint, but I would say that claiming 'he had this inside him beforehand' sounds like metaphysical horseshit, honestly. Also, if you actually 'don't believe in the general goodness of humanity,' then its probably for the best that you're not serving in Iraq now, where I'd imagine optimism (of the non-blind variety) is in short supply, and heavily coveted.

A few things, Chartreuse:
- sorry, but not requiring licensing of guns on the state level is un-Constitutional by any scholarly and reasonable interpretation of the 2nd Amendment. Deal w'it.
- I never asserted that 'blanket gun control would be an improvement in the U.S. Not even close. You, however, did ascribe that belief to this undecided fellow, 'cause you wanted to argue. Troll.
- I'd like to think American customs are a bit tighter than that seen in the U.K., especially considering the loosened restrictions of the European Union. As such, illicit arms deals would be more difficult and costly into the States, and would lead to higher prices/lower numbers of armed criminals.
- stop crying that I'm responding to you while writing as much or more than I do - considering that and the banal nickname by which you refer to me, you sound more hypocritical than I would have thought possible (see my second point). Argue maturely or go home.
