Beach in Japan Makes it the Luckiest Country on Earth
Yeah, I went here. There really is a real beach not too far away, that's true. But that beach is filthy as shit, and there's tons of jellyfish.
It hurts kind of bad if they sting you, but granted it's no Australia where those tiny ones can kill you.
Anyway, like all Japanese inventions, it seems really stupid at first but then you realize there's a reason for... some of them.

Suicidal Guy Decides to Jump In Front of a Train
A girl jumped in front of a train I was riding here in Japan. I don't know if all Countries have similar laws, but it's a huge problem here so they're been taking measures to try and get people to stop.

Here, at the very least, your family has to not only deal with the grief of losing you, but they have to pay for the clean-up as well.

Also, if the train is delayed they pay fees to compensate businesses for employees arriving late.

And, they pay for any damage incurred to the train... which in the case of bullet trains, can be a pretty hefty sum.

So, at least here in Japan, death by train has got to be one of the least considerate ways to do yourself in.

Japanese Reporter Falls Five Floors on Live TV
The clip doesn't go back far enough to really know what's going on, but I'm guessing they were trying to demonstrate the strength of the duct tape.

But it's funny, you can tell by the way the male reporter keeps saying things along the lines of "I'm a little worried about this..." that at least a few people didn't think it was a good idea.

Still, 50% of TV shows in Japan involve someone getting hurt in one way or another, so who knows... maybe it was all planned.

James Thompson Takes on the Massive Butterbean
Yeah, Butterbean's record is actually pretty shit.

And the fight was called spot-on. As soon as you stop intelligently defending (ie, laying on the ground like a dead fish), the fight's over. It's to prevent people from dying in the ring like they did sometimes in the early years of MMA.

Also, just because Butterbean boxes doesn't make him Richard Simmons. Fat guys naturally have tons of strength, cause they put hella tons of weight behind each punch. From the looks of it, most of his training is lifting the TV remote, and maybe hitting a punching bag or starting a bar fight every couple weeks.

Insane Japanese Show Makes Scare Tactics Look Mild
If I were put on a Japanese TV show, this one would be one of my first choices.

Other shit I've seen here includes a game show where a man's ass comes closer and closer to your face every time you answer wrong, until you nose rape him.

And a game show where the point is not to laugh in funny situations. If you do, a bunch of huge guys hold you down and someone shoots you in the ass with a dart. On another episode, contestants that laughed were bashed in the balls with a rubber hammer.

There's another show where contestants guess how much gourmet sushi costs, then eat it. And if you guess wrong, you actually have to pay for it (sometimes hundreds of dollars).
