I watched the vid again and saw that he wasn't walking away he was walking towards the cops kneeling behind the car so you couldnt see them. It reminded me of what the retired police instructor taught me at my consealed weapons class, that someone running at full speed with a knife from 10 feet away can reach you in a split second. So i guess your right, its not worth taking chances with this punk. But it seems like he was wondering around for a while just waving his knife in the air, they coulda hit him with like 5 tazer guns during that period. Do you know why they didn't try anything like mace or tazers?

Why do you have to lump every situation into 1 category? 9 out of 10 times when a cop shoots someone they hate the fact that it had 2 happen. But clearly there are exceptions and if there are no checks and balances then police will have the power to do whatever they want. Thats not a position that any authority should have in a democracy. So go on with your attitude that questioning an individual situation is the same as accusing all police of being wrong, but anyone with half a brain understands that holding authority responsible for their actions is allways important. Maybe they had a right to shoot that guy dead but to me it looked like he was walking away from them and they clearly had the upper hand. Mace him or taze him, it was 20 cops with guns standing 10 feet from him, you mean to tell me they cant bring him down without using a gun?

That could have been handled better. Why did they choose to wait untill the guy turned his back on them to shoot him?
The guy was wondering around bare footed in the snow. just mace him taser him and let nature do the rest. I respect cops and if the guy stabbed a child I say just kill him anyways but jesus have the courage to do it to his face.
