Well I can't say I object to anything you said except the Afghan thing. We didn't go there to free the population from the Taliban (which we armed and trained by the way). We went there to crush the Taliban for western interests. The Taliban is now much less influential in Afghanistan.
Maybe they should have the right to choose (or reject) democracy. But I'm no egalitarian, It's their problem, let them drive out the Taliban themselves, armed by us possibly, IF (big if) they reject the Taliban's idea of an Islamic state. Just like the Taliban drove out the soviets with our assistance when they rejected communism.

If you know anything about the militaristic history of humankind, you should have seen plenty of evidence, that it's highly plausible, YOU WILL be asked to fight in a pointless or unjust war. Ergo, if you join the forces, you are submitting any moral objection you may have to a particular conflict, to the politically driven, and often corrupt leadership of your nation.
