I've never understood the optimism behind tunnel design. The designers seem to assume that no car will ever break down inside a tunnel. And so, there doesn't need to be any place for cars to stop. Yeah, I know it costs more to make tunnels bigger. But the damage caused by explosions isn't exactly free.

I'd really like to know where this generation of retarded teenagers got the idea that fire isn't hot and that gasoline makes a safe toy. Holy Jesus Christ. You poured gasoline on your pants and set them on fire. What did you THINK was going to happen? You think that because you saw some stunt guy do it (though not with gasoline, I can assure you), that you and your ignorant friends can do it? What retard thought up this sport?
No one fucked with the teleprompter. He just didn't pause long enough (didn't pause at all, actually) between saying the other guy was off, and between starting his first news story. Plus, the lead in for the story really sucked... "A man was murdered" would have been better.
In other words, they get their money's worth.
It is the driver's fault. He didn't leave enough space between him and the van. When the guy in front of you changes lanes, sometimes you need to have enough time to react to the thing that caused him to changed lanes. Otherwise you're just mindlessly trusting that nothing unexpected will occur ever.
At the start of the video, you can see running around from the front of the formation. No doubt he's been running around and through the formation throughout their performance, purposefully being obnoxious. And in any case, in the one instance we see he chose to run in front of the LAST ROW of the procession, rather than run behind the entire procession. Again, purposefully being obnoxious. He got what was coming to him. If I'd been there and his parents had made a stink, I would have eagerly joined the mob that stomped the life out of them. When you make the decision to be a parent, you also need to accept the responsibility of minimizing the suffering your decision causes the rest of the world. So try teaching your precious little snowflake some fucking manners.

This is the problem with roads that don't have shoulders. I can never understand why they build them like this. Even worse are bridges and tunnels. Yeah, it means things have to be wider and thus it uses more materials and is more expensive. But it's a helluva lot safer.
They should cut the cord. The knot is evidence. They can't just assume it was suicide. I know it most likely was, but untying the knot destroys evidence.
So what's the time limit on "hostage" versus "inconvenienced? If I go into a bank and prevent people from leaving for only ten minutes, then have I just inconvenienced them? In any case, the point of my comment, which you seem to have missed, was that freedom of speech does not mean that you can break the law willy nilly. I was responding to those who are crying "How can you defend the driver? These people were just practicing their freedom of speech!" No, they were breaking the law. Impeding traffic, or whatever label you'd like to put on it, since you don't like my use of the word "hostage." Don't cry about your rights at the same time you are denying other people theirs.
Freedom of speech does not allow you to hold people hostage.
Someone might want to consider designing the stirrups or whatever so that it takes more than a nuclear blast for the rider to get his foot out. Just a thought.

Except that the way we are destroying the environment right and left, many wild animals are much better off in captivity. I think zoos have their place, although I wish more was done to encourage people to value nature. Most zoos, I fear, simply teach people to view wildlife as entertainment.
Totally fake. Like someone could pull against a piece of free-standing furniture and not expect that to happen. And she completely stops dancing while she puts all of her weight on the cabinet. And all the while she's pulling, the cabinet is moving -- which would have caused any sane person to let go or at least stop pulling. Finally, she doesn't scream. Show me a woman who falls -- JUST falls, mind you -- without screaming. Not only does this one fall, but she has a piece of furniture fall on top of her. And she doesn't make a peep.
