Actually - not East L.A. - but anywhere in Southern California all the way up to Stockton. She was lucky they didn't start sumping on her head - that is the mode here in California if you are unfortunate enough to get jumped by a group of Mexicans, Salvadoreans, or Blacks. I don't know why except that they must have such pent-up hatred that when they beat on someone, it is not enough to knock them down. They stump on their head till it is beyond recognition.
