I study law in Norway, and if the judicial system in the USA is built on the same principles, then the lawyer isn't supposed to have an OPINION. Thats the point. An opinion can be based on anything.
The judge is supposed to be "the mouth that speaks the law". The court is supposed to solve judicial disputes SOLELY by application of law. When the lawyer says "that is YOUR opinion", he is trying to make it look like the judge is ignoring the relevant legislation, and turning to her own opinion of how it should be.
Therefore, I think she is right. It is disrespectful, and like she says: if your not pleased with the result, take it to the next forum.
