Joey Barton is a reasonably talented footballer (soccer player) who's anger and inability to control his temper have led to him being arrested on a number of occasions. In my opinion he is a good footballer. He is committed and NEVER attempts to injure fellow players (unlike Roy Keane). However, off the field he is a disgrace. He has been arrested countless times. He once broke a stranger's leg by ramming them with his car. He has been arrested for assault on numerous occasions. He once stubbed out a cigar in his team mate's eye following an argument. He has also been arrested for assaulting a fan of his OWN team following a training session!
However, he's not as bad as his brother Michael Barton who is currently in jail for murdering someone with an icepick in a racial attack.

joey has within the last hour been given a 4 month suspended sentence for k.o a team MATE on the training ground

I only about half a mile down the road from where this happened in Liverpool, basically he got 6 months in prison for this, but you should know a little more about his family before you cast judgement on him, one of his cousins, a lovely lad, got in a bit of grief with the old bill when he lodged an ice pick in the head of a black lad, because he was black, and he was off his head. Would of been fine but when he tried to pull the ice pick out, he found he had hit him so hard with it, he just left it there and tried to drive out of the country, on a leg with his mate. Eventually handed himself in, and is now doing 10 to 15 years for the murder of a very religious and upstanding member of liverpool's black community. Way to go the barton family, another job well done in how to sucessfully raise children.
