The friend dies and the main character suddenly has no problems shooting kids in no man's land.

They have lenses with magnification for targeting. If they bothered to look (and care) they would have seen (the gunner) right before he pressed the trigger, that he SHOULDN'T. The FACT that he did, means simply that Isreaeli tankmen (some of them) could care less about who exactly they kill when they go on their retalitory operations in Palestianian territory.
Even if this was THE EXACT STREET BLOCK from where a Katyusa Rocket was fired, they still don't have the right to fire at kids and cameramen. They are only cleared to fire, as in any armed force from a civilized country, cleared to fire at Men carrying arms, or military equipment. Period.

Please, how about a little more context with this video too... why were there tanks there? What became of the tank crew? Where and when exactly was this? Are there any other angles of video that we haven't seen? And BTW, the tank crew may very well have NOT seen the kids, as the kids were at an angle behind the corner of a building... and perhaps the tank crew saw someone aiming something at them, or mistakenly thought the guy with a TV camera up on his shoulder (pro tv video cam is much bigger than your cell phone or home equipment, and sits on the shoulder, sometimes with long lens), and thought it was a guy aiming an anti-tank weapon. Yes, most unfortunate, but this junk happens in the middle of war zones, especially when the combatants are often themselves scared young guys (i.e. 17, 18 yo).

These are all "what ifs" which are, I'll give you relevant to a general discussion on collateral damage in a war zone, but still DO NOT APPLY here. These kids WERE NOT "RPG kids". They were unarmed.
And while a Armored Fighting Vehicle has blind spots, it certainly has good optics for its gunnery. And that Israeli Gunner saw EXACTLY what he was shooting at.
