You're right...people were getting their traches crushed because of wrong positioning. I've been teaching Martial Arts since the early 80s and still grapple to this day! Chokes are under utilized as well as Hyper and Hypo flexion to a joint.

Hi we've not spoke before. Chokes seem really effective but do people sometimes die from them. Theyd never be permitted in the UK where i work. What i mean is they aren't taught, i suppose if it was life or death you may be able to justify it but we'd be dragged over the coals for it.

Not properly applied....when is the last time you've heard of an MMA fighter dying from this type of choke. Sometimes officers use their ASP in applying a choke this can kill, but a properly applied choke is very effective....still we can not use them unless our life is on the line...if that's the case I use other methods than a R-N-C!
