Relax, even Australian soldiers cringe and cross their trigger fingers when the shooting starts as their weapons are notorious for jamming when in the presence of even minimal dust. That's why Australian soliders play a minimalist role in the middle east. The dust. How many Aussies do you ever hear about dying in combat? There's a few who have killed themselves or each other while cleaning the dust out of the firing mechanisms but the Aussie media spins it so they appear to be valiant warriors dying in battle. But virtually zero Aussie deaths in real battle. Why is that? Nobody wants to fight beside soldiers who are in a perpetual state of cleaning their firearms so they're usually kept back from the action unloading cargo or playing grease monkey.

All good blokes and well intentioned - wouldn't hesitate to offer backup if they could only fire their weapons. The leadership they tell me is the problem, among other grievances, lining their pockets with excess from the budget skimmed after buying and supplying their personnel with less quality hardware than the money was allocated for - treasonous behavior like that. And I dare say I left the Holden off of the 3-item list. A nice vehicle for sure - I want one!

Its no good saying "It all comes down to how well you maintain your weapon if you want it to work" when your in the middle of a dust filled country in the middle of a fire fight, you cant expect the soldier to clean his weapon every few hours its just not possible especially when your in insurgent territory.
