It's not like anyone on the boat could have done much about it even if they had noticed. Once the rope goes taut, a person isn't going to be able to hold back a truck being pulled overboard, and the boat won't stop on a dime.

This is a home vid of a commercial being filmed. It was one in a series of commercials in the U.S. of owners totalling their trucks in ways that look like accidents in order to get new trucks from the insurance claims.They aired for about 3 weeks then were pulled, I assume because the number of real claims increased due to people getting ideas from this ad campaign.

That was a toyota tacoma commerical. It was part of the toyotathon end of the year sales.
other parts of the commerical showed the guy who walks away close up as he looks back and forth to make sure no one is watching. He fat and looks like the guy with the hispanic name that was fired from SNL. Rick sanchez i think.

I thought it was fake, so I watched it again over and over. This is definitely real. At first you see the pole/chain behind the car and I thought, how would it get through that? But then I realised, that's the noise you hear, the pole falling over. Then as for the guy walking away -- uhh, it was kinda obvious he did it deliberately. You hear the guy at the start saying he tied the rope on, anyway good commercial :)
