Lately it seems so many of the videos posted on this site are graphic ... yesterday I believe there were two videos depicting rape.
I know people are going to say well why do you visit the site .. and I'm not posting this to debate or argue. I'm just saying the site is called "Nothing Toxic" and yet it seems every day there's a video with someone getting their throat slit, being murdered, raped or some sort of beat down. It's gotten to the point where I may only watch one video of the 6 posted each day because I just don't need to fill my head w/ the other stuff.
Does anyone else feel this is the case?

Primitive? It's Islam that sparked the renaissance in Europe due to the fact that they had preserved all kinds of ancient texts and knowledge that would otherwise have been lost forever. They practiced genuine science and advanced our understanding in all kinds of fields... "algebra", "chemical", "algorithm", "average", "zero", etc. All words loaned from Arabic. After the collapse of the Roman empire, Europe essentially lost around 1,000 years of development (around 500-1500AD). During that time it is the Islamic World that was preeminent, and everything we have achieved scientifically and mathematically since the renaissance we owe to the Islamic scholars of the middle east and north Africa.
As for "their" God, it is the same God that Jews and Christians worship. Muslims even believe in Jesus.

I think you are missing the entire point of his post. He clearly states that muslims are stuck in the same time period in which you state that they developed all these things. That culture was advanced, and yes they did develop those things. However, they have done nothing but destroy things and develop better ways to destroy things for the last 500 years. The faults of a certain group of people can not be seperated from the culture, fundamentalism is the problem and responsibility of the entire Islamic group. They allow this to happen or it simply would not. An advanced society accepts responsibility for its people. The point I am trying to make is everything you say they did is true, but its 500 years old, and they havnt done a thing since.

Also, I'd like to mention the Iraqi people have tried to stand up to Saddam. Do you realize what happened the last time America invaded Iraq (desert storm)? They told the people to stand up, and topple Saddam. Many tried, but the US and UK pulled out w/o giving the support they promised. All the rebels were slaughtered by Saddam. Forgive them if they don't trust us 15 years later. And don't forget why Saddam was hanged, the gassing of AN ENTIRE TOWN of 5k people to suppress an uprising.
The little American revolution was over 200 years ago in a place that was isolated from it's ruler. It cost lots of manpower and money to fight the war. The British couldn't handle it. Different time, different place - not even worth comparing.
Also, what kind of soldier kills childern and defenseless human beings? Watch some of the videos on this site. I don't know about you, but when we see an infrared camera shooting people up, I can't tell how old they are. I can't even tell if they're bad people. All I see is useless death and destruction. We just assume our government gets it right, but there is a fog of war. We've dropped bombs on ALLIES! Who's to say we haven't dropped bombs on an innocent family walking to the market? Bush says? Or Cheney? Or one of the several top brass war profiteering and getting that extra star?

Yes they are fighting for their land back, and they are fighting for their independence and freedom, but they cannot see that it can be granted if they would just co-operate in a dimplomatic and civiliised way. Now you tell me that they are civilised sectular factions and militia's...can you? All these insurgents are mainly militias and at no point are they thinking reconciliation, that NEVER will enter these minds..their ideology commands against it. The revenge for family loss even though you might not believe it is a small percentage of fighters and most are forced through ideological and psychological pursuation from their elders. The truck in the video was an Iraqi Police Vehicle and no US involvement at that point..........that says to me that there is no hope...they ONLY way peace will prevail in those lands is a diplomatic government and a unity implemented, but these lands are so torn by secular and religious differences that NEVER allow peace or long term agendas.
