Police officers are there to serve and protect. The policeman had every right to carry out his duties. I think he could see the guy was not an emergency case and made the point by asking the woman why she didn't call an ambulance, which is a fair point. The guy in the car's non emergency condition was backed up by the stupid stunt he pulled on a cop carrying out his duties. Nut jobs like these two deserve to have the book thrown at them for obstructing and assaulting an officer.

If you watch the full clip from liveleak you'll see that she did not stop when the officer tried to pull her over. Instead she kept driving, thus giving the police officer a good reason to suspect that the driver is a criminal, even possibly armed and/or drugged out. She said her husband has an emergency, the cop noticed otherwise. The cop kept asking her papers and she refused, and when the person you suspect is a criminal is avoiding you and your questions it is a good chance the person is a criminal. Well guess what, she was hiding drugs, made illegal use of a license plate, was driving without a license, was driving without insurance and removed labels from controlled substance containers. Plus had a fucking maniac husband come out of the car and attack him with a cane.

I think she was just trying to get out of a ticket! Her husband obviosly didn't need a wheelchair to open the door, get out, walk around to the front of the SUV and swing a cane on the officer! Hell he could of made it to the wheelchair his damn self! I f she remained calm and communicated this would of never happened!! For one you know you don't get out of your car when you get pulled over thats why he drew his weapon, common procedure for you dumb people out there.

The passenger was not in the immediate state of requiring medical care so the police was right to question the driver for why she broke the law and to show him her ID.

i think you are all missing the point. these people should have complied, no doubt. the point though is that police should exercise people skills, tolerance and be able to diffuse a situation rather than inflame it which they clearly did here.
eg.: when the lady said 'let me get the wheelchair first, then ill give u the documents', the officer could easily have told his colleague to get it for her, told her 'don't worry we will make sure he's fine, we're getting the wheelchair in the meantime please get me your documents'...DONE. no need for this gung-ho bullshit.

Be interesting to know all the info. IE past drug warrants and such. If no priors for that sort of stuff the officer was in the wrong IMO. If there were, she could have given drugs to the husband so a search would not turn anything up.
