To answer your question, in my area of the states you are arrested by district police, taken to juvenile detention, charged with assault (regardless of fault), held for about a week in jail, and when you finally get out you are banned from that school district. Also, now a days the parents usually take the assailant's family to civil court and sue them for all sorts of damages.
