I highly support the death penalty for murder and some cases of maiming. But I don't think they deserved to die for stealing. Take Link from the legend of Zelda for example, he was a thief, should he get a face full of 12 gauge ? If the robbers had weapons on them then that would be diffrent, it's kill or be killed, and they are invading so they are fair game.

So instead of either
A) letting it go,
B) Considering that a guy with a bag of loot is not going to drop it quickly and that they cannot fight while holding it, then just knock the prick out with ya fists or
C) even take a bat out with ya........
But he had to resort to a shotgun. Then, not only does he take a shot at both of them...he finishes one off with a third round. Was he forced to do this?...of course not.
