Any additional info on this clip anyone? It happened so fast, I couldn't tell if it was someone whose car had broken down, or what.

The cop is doing like 80Mp/h with light and siren(i think) and she is in the middle of the road outside a blackedout car .

erm her car had crapped out.. she saw him coming .. she panic'd watching him approach and got out and was running for the side of the road.. and the cop nailed her.. the cops totally in the wrong.... police proccedure dictates u SLOW DOWN to a safe speed when approaching traffic thats halted... To avoid shit like this from happening... i mean what if she was deaf ??? sirens wouldnt of helped...

Maybe "if she was deaf" the flashing blue lights would have alerted her...?

the shit head cop in THAT cruiser should have never parked that way with all his lights OFF.
This is in NO way the Cop in the video-cruiser's fault.

At 1:01 mark, she darts from the side of parked BMW. Looks like she was running across the road to get to some friends. But it also looks like it's in an intersection. Maybe the cop was responding to an accident. Shiiiit, cops never come in my neighborhood!

Cop's fault.... This dumb cop was obviously speeding. He was must likely responding to this accident. The lady's car was in the middle of the road and I believed when she saw the fast cop car she thought she was about to get hit so she ran for cover. This video is shown in police training.

You folks need to look closely at the video. One car is sitting in the road perpedicular to the highway, blocking traffic. The cruiser approaches the scene at high speed, then tries to slow down when the cop discovers a vehicle blocking the road. However, what the cop does not notice is that there is a woman standing in front of the car, on the shoulder. The driver of the cruiser cannot slow down fast enough, so the cop swerves onto the shoulder to drive past the stopped car, and unfortunately avoids the car just enough to nail the woman. When the driver struck the woman, the cruiser was driving on the shoulder.
The woman was standing on the shoulder. Look at the white line, which separates traffic from the shoulder. The double-yellow line is the center divider.
The cop was driving way too fast for night-time duty. You can tell that much without much thought.

Not sure what was wrong with the car in the road, but hazard lights may have prevented this accident. Road flares would have for sure.
Captain Obvious Says:
Everyone should always carry road flares or reflective cones in their vehicle for night time accidents/break downs. Fire extinguishers are also a good idea.
