Yeah it looked like it dropped off a lot at the treeline, hence the big fall. Either that or the truck was a ghost.

I'm guessing the the driver was out and climbed back an when a civilian driver proposed aid with his own vehicle. The truck was actually being towed out, but I guess it was too far over to be saved.
