On a serious note, this is why I believe its ok to hit a child. Not with a closed fist, or with a weapon for that matter, but with an open-hand thats not too powerful. We need to condition kids to understand right from wrong; moral from immoral; and ethical from unethical. Doing this through physical means seems to be the most potent way to, as long as the punishment is not excessive and abused.
