This might look bad for the americans but the fact of the matter is they cannot slow down or stop in some places of baghdad for fear of ied's and rpgs etc, and i doubt he aimed to hit the car but had no choice but to ram through. just thought id say that before everyone starts talking shit like "this is way everyone hates americans" and im british by the way so i aint biased

They did laugh, and knew what they were doing, gotta keep your sanity somehow by laughing shit off sometimes. The situations these guys are in every day, its a wonder most of them don't go mad. My buddy told me some stories that were just plain fucked up man! Anyway, thanks for not flaming me on the whole prayer thing, don't need that right now. @EdCase: I was just pointing out that while people are bitching that they clipped a car, it could have been worse. For instance, someone once told me that when they saw a car chillin on the side of the road like that, theyd stop a good distance away and unload on it with a 50 cal until it blew up. Youre not likely to find a video of that online. But that area seemed too populated to be suspicious of a random car on the side of the road. So who knows what the deal was.
I am not going to criticize them for hitting the car. Just by seeing a short clip you cant tell whats going on and its ignorant to talk shit about the men in the humvee. But I'd laugh too if I saw that happen..

I think that there was plenty of space to avoid the collision. The man in the white car clearly tried to give room to the Humvee. Next time he probably wont help.
Targetting civilians intentionally is never justified. Still some of you are defending these people who are committing war crimes. I agree that they are bored and under a lot of pressure, but they if they cant tell the difference between right and wrong they shouldn't be soldiers.
I have served in an army ( not in US army ), and I know that there are good and bad people over there. You are encouraged to support your troops and that's a good thing, but don't be blind. Just because they carry US Army uniform doesn't make them good people or soldiers, every army has it's sick individuals who make terrible things! I acknowledge that there are many good soldiers in US army that are doing what they are supposed to.
Open your eyes for God's sake!

Gettin' a little tired of hearing people say "The soldiers are only doing what they have to do, they don't have any choice," etc, etc. Well, for one thing, it's not just that a lot of them do stuff like you see in this video. It COULD be argued that it had something to do with them wanting to get through the traffic quickly for safety reasons, etc. But what's up with the laughing? OK, now I know what some of you will say: "They get shot at everyday, and they don't get any respect from the Iraqi people, so therefore they're not gonna have much sympathy for those people."
But that brings me back to the "they don't have any choice but to be in Iraq" argument . . . an argument which is completely BOGUS! The entire world knows by now that this war was totally unnecessarry from the start, and that George W. Bush and his minions LIED us into it. So why, then, would anyone continue to assist Bush in his "crusade"?! Any soldier who would stand up and say, "I will NOT continue to fight YOUR war, Mr. President," would be court-martialed, for sure. Likely would do 3 to 5 years. But compare that to continuing to kill, and possibly BE killed, for the Bush Regime. And besides that, I'd say that any soldier willing to stand up to Bush will quickly be pardoned once Bush and his buddies are themselves tried and convicted of their crimes.
So stop pretending our troops don't have any choice in the matter. In fact, what if a huge number of them would stand up tomorrow and say "I QUIT"? I think Bush's little Iraqi excursion would suddenly come to a screeching halt.

There's this lil country called...umm, yes called Iraq who disagrees. Maybe you had the part of your brain removed that might remember the initial celebrations at US SOLDIERS entering the city. Maybe your brain had the MIB light thingy treatment, and you've forgoten what that lil country actually thought back then. 
I do agree about the laughing tho. Not right. Man in damaged car not laughing, only man who fix car is laughing.

While yes, I'll agree with you that American's have done some harmful activities in Iraq. Stuff I've seen on this site like shooting the hell out of a mosque tower, making kids chase their Hummer for water for like 20 blocks, orchestrating fights between Iraqi youth. And it's important this stuff gets showed, so we can try and curb it in the future. But it's one thing to show both positive videos of things we are doing over in Iraq and negative things. Or what's Scott's doing here at NT, only showing the negative things. Or so I've noticed at least. I see very few videos here that make American troops look good, benevolent, or cast us in a positive light. There are videos out there that do make us (the U.S.) look good out there on the net, but I rarely see them here.
This pretty much leads me to believe Scott is in fact a democrat. I'm not like talking shit, it's just something I noticed.
p.s. - you run a great site.

When you sign that little piece of paper with the recruiter, you are property of the armed forces (marines, army etc. etc) Dude/dudette, have you served in the armed forces? Nevermind, you haven't because if you did you would know!
I consider myself a moderate Republican, and I state that proudly. I don't, however, just adore Bush like many of you may think after reading my shit. I'll be the first to admit he's fucked up on some stuff, border Security, for one.

A couple things: For one, no I DON'T recall that, except for a VERY few instances of small groups of people standing here and there waving as US troops went by. Wonder WHY their weren't millions of people in the streets throwing flowers at their "liberators"? Could it maybe be that a large percentage of the Iraqi people knew either a family member, friend, or acquaintence who had just recently been either A) killed, B) maimed, C) terrorized, or D) humiliated by the U.S.? Remember "Shock & Awe" . . . terrorism by any other name . . .
You don't seriously think any Iraqi sat and said, "Well, my two little kids got killed last night in a bombing raid, but at least we don't have to worry about Saddam anymore!" You can NOT believe anyone would have that attitude!
But another thing . . . . surely your reference to the Iraqi people celebrating isn't in regards to the "toppling of the Saddam statue", is it? I sure hope not, because it's now been common knowledge for YEARS that that whole event was orchestrated and staged by a coalition of the U.S. and a little guy named Ahmed Chalabi!

Dude, American attacks on various targets around Iraq during the 'shock and awe' period were the most precision attacks IN THE HISTORY OF WAR. Don't give me that bullshit like we massacred scores of innocents, when in fact the lack of civilian casualties inflicted at that point was unprecedented. Some isolated accidents happened, yes. But that pales in comparison to previous wars.
Your equating of the 'shock and awe' to terrorism is dispicable.

This war is political...if it wasn't, the commanders would send the needed amount of troops into the country and level it. The commanders take their orders though from the the Chief Commander, Bush. If that isn't politics I don't know what is. The reason the war is being lost is because of politics getting in the way. If the politicians could just shut the f*ck up and let the commanders do what they do best it would go smoother and faster...ah well what can ya do?
