I just saw Tourista's the other nite with virtually the same situation as this clip. Only their bus takes a header leaving them stranded. Why the hell do these hippies insist on traveling to such isolated shitholes? Seriously, the majority of the people and their governments are completely corrupt. They purposely prey on tourists.

As for repair, stabilizing a road like that would cost an insane amount of money. In the US it would be fixed. In places like that...not so much.

I have been on this road before when I was in Bolivia. They are in the process of building another road but it takes forever it that kind of terrain. And yes, it is scary as hell. I was very glad to get off. At one point while reversing our van was skidding to the edge. We didnt fall off obviously but it still freaked me out. It was kinda fun tho in a scary way.
