#1.If you are held as an hostage you would be unlikely to get the use of a phone.
#2.A family member's been shot the caller would hopefully be ringing for an ambulance.
#3.Again the ambulance so that when the Police
turn up you can say you didn't mean to inflict such terrible damage but you did only use reasonable force.
