OK, I hate to rain on everyones parade. I do work for the World Society for the protection of animals. Right now we're busting our asses to close parks like this down.
These bears are locked up in groups of 10-20 in tiny enclosures. They are not fed at all by the park owners thats why they do that begging stuff that seems so cute becuase theyre starving. They get sick, they fight over food and they are never treated. When they are not in the bear pit they are kept in an underground basement with no light. Im not a tree hugger but these parks are fucked up and are like priority number one right now for us.

The Bears seemed to be healthy to me... They were not shedding and seemed to have the appropriate amount of fat on them.

I am not disagreeing and if the conditions are as horrible as they are purported to be, then by all means... Move them to a better environment.

I would think that with all of the media attention, that if it was that bad, that more of an effort to shut this one down would be made...

@ The World Wildlife Fund is a good place to start. I send them a check every month as well as my local Humane Society. What else can we do?

I just watched this again because people are saying this in Russia. Maybe it is but the tourists seem to be speaking an Asian language.

Where I live.... a couple of years ago, it was noticed that a wild, brown bear had a white cub with her. People swarmed from all over to see. The bear started hanging around the highway because people were feeding her in order to get a look and pictures of her cub. When I heard about it, my first thought was that something bad is going to happen. Sure enough, a few weeks later, the mama bear was hit and killed by a car and the cub is now in a zoo. No freedom for her.

Those poor bears. I wish they would go eat those people that laughing at them. But I gotta say. Those bears look smarter than half of the people on this planet.
