Tragic is right... But what happened to the eject system? It's a Tom Cat not WWII Spitfire.
Who knows, maybe the tight turn created too much G-force and blacked him and his co-pilot out. Hope it did, at least they would have known nothing about their violent demise. R.I.P. ![]()

No they'd not have died. Ejection seats are rated for zero/zero now. Have been for years.
They'll eject and permit a canopy opening at zero speed and zero altitude.
The pilot obviously stayed with the plane to keep it from crashing into a larger populated area. Kinda hard to try to keep the plane away from spectators when you're NOT IN THE COCKPIT!
