Although Wikipedia says there is controversy over the cause, if you download the longer version of the video (here: http://www.zionkowski.com /klipy/Su-27.avi ) you will see that the cause is definitely engine failure. Look at the 0:57 mark and you will see and hear at least one of the engines cut off and send the plane into that terrible dive.
