The main reason is that most Aussie's are just too lazy to talk properly. Being misunderstood is preferable to appropriate lip, tongue and jaw exertion. It's a laid-back lifestyle thing.

gooda mate ,just got back from fluffing me kaangarooo and saw me self the mounties running over me neighbor. now usally tant big deal but they happen to tear up me grass. now who da ya suppose i send da bill .mate the neighbor wont be good for much more then a speed bump , and im not messing with any mounties that use cars for tasers ....gooda
