Oddly enough I have mixed opinions on this one. But in the end, he was a gang-banger. Fuck him. Plus, I fuckin hate it when they only show the cops with the guy on the ground and none of the prologue. Just like Rodney King. That was a well-deserved beating. This guy probably had the same type of circumstances. I just don't like the punches to the face. When you do strike a suspect, typically it's to pressure points to make him release his grip or take away his ability to resist.

Moose, whatever the prologue was, shouldn't an officer always keep his composure? This cop went psycho on the perp and proceeded to smash his head in with his bare fists as he kneeled with his full weight on the smashee's neck and head. The dude was totally immobile. Another cop helped to restrain him, for pete's sake. I hope that the felony-fighting cop was fired.

when the video begins you clearly hear the suspect say " i cant breath! i cant breath!" i say the nice officer was merely trying to assist the suspect to breath better by dislodging pesky mucus from his nasal passage, using his fist. what a nice thoughtful officer.

Like Moose said,they need to show what was happening before this. It might be the same as the Rodney King tape where they just showed the ending and left out the part when Rodney King was attacking the cops. I'm not saying that's the case. There's no way to tell without seeing the whole thing.

as a cop who had been involved in numerous resisting arrests, just because there are two cops you can still get your head handed to you until the cuffs are on, if he is saying I can't breath he can breath. ever fight i go to there is a gun there,on my hip. the video does not show it but i bet somebody called the police in the first place because of something the guy did.. That isn't Police Brutality... The suspect was grabbing the Police officers arm. If the Police officer did not take immediate action, the suspect could have had hold of the Police officers gun, tazer, mace, or who knows what. Some of you should think twice before making a judgement like this. I am sure if you had a crazy man grabbing hold of you, you would probably bash his face in as well.

Like the Rodney king video, this was taken completely out of context. What they didn't show was this guy running from and assault on an officer and resisting arrest. FYI, cops are trained to hit vital areas in order for suspects to comply. It sucks and even looks bad, but hey...don't commit the crime in the first place.
