Plain and simple. You pull and fire a gun at cop, expect to die for it. There is reason it is called "Lethal Force". By the time is escalates to the point when an officer is forced to fire his weapon, its with the full expectation that that someone is going to die. Show me a departmental policy of "shoot to wound" or "only hit him in the leg". Patrolmen with HANDGUNS are not SWAT. They are not snipers specially trained to shoot a flea off a dog a mile away. My training in the military taught me to shoot for "center mass". In fact, the target circle was centered in the chest. There were no "bonus points" for shooting for the head. Police shooting ranges teach the same thing.

If the family is looking for a scapegoat, or someone to blame, how about you blame your SON. Quit looking for quick bucks and the sympathy tears from others and look back at how you fucked up his upbringing bad enough that brought it to this point.
