That is going a bit far. They kept hitler busy in the east as hitler threw the majority of his forces to fight the soviets...and vice versa. No side would have won without the fact that hitler was fighting on two (if not more when you include the Balkans, Africa, Italy etc).

Hitler was outgunned, outmanned and out-manuevered. No one nation won that war....it was the co-operation of all allied nations fighting against the 'axil of evil' that won it.

And if you want to get technical....like 80% of the wars that Russia has ever fought....the freezing winter that beat back constant enemies....not Russia, damn Napoleon is the best example of this:
